second, we had our first company anniversary two fridays ago. it was sooooo fun. almost everything went well, except for my performance, i choked and forgot the last couple of eights and instead of looking lost, i made up a new set of eights. which made me look more stupid btw.

third, i had a haircut. yeah, i'm looking so 2006 again.

pfft!
so i 've been away. haven't been online since the 11th of january.
and now i'm flooded with mails, friend requests, party invites and so on.

anyway, i just got back from a much needed break.
been to puerto g last wednesday and got home last night.
and three days weren't enough for me. srsly.
i didn't want to go home last night, if it weren't for my officemates who needed to be back before saturday, i would've stayed until sunday.
there weren't much people when we got there. koreans were swarming the place though.
friday came and they doubled. people started pouring in.
anyway, it was all good. and i promised myself to be back before march. just for the heck of it.
pics will come up soon.
oh yeah, i got braids. ;p

tan and lovin' it!

that's not me.

well, almost like me.

it's been almost three weeks now and i'm still struggling with my weight issues. yet again.
i've been in and out of the war zone for quite some time now and yet, i haven't learned my lesson. fastfood is one of the worst enemies.
it's really hard to quit on something especially if your battleground is surrounded with fastfood restos.
tempura, north park, domino's mang inasal, mcdo, jollibee, kfc, pancake house, goldilocks, teriyaki boy are just some of the restos that are only fifty steps away from our new office.
i would have been successful in sticking to the plan, but no, these jerks are ruining my summer '08 look day by day! willpower where are you?!? i've only got less than three months to be in my ideal shape. the clock is tiiiiicking!

gahd, i need to release the master yoda in me.

Today is the 10th birthday of Starbucks Philippines.

So for every drink purchased (fruit juices and bottled water not included), they'd be giving out 2 stickers for your planner card.

bad hair day!
last night was hell.
as i was starting to get a decent power sleep, i started getting the hives again. but this time it was much worse. i had it in quite big patches. i was itching all over. what made it worse was i had it on my face. now i don't want that because it takes hours for them to go... poof.

yeah, smack me on the hoochies, momma.

* * *

i haven't been posting anything sensible. idkw. i've got tons of drafts here. maybe i should start a blog of my unfinished entries. hmmm.

* * *

i've been wanting to get out of work for some time now. its not that i don't like working. i like it. i only want a few days off so that i can think about something else and not worry about the reports and classes that i have. i wish i could go on a trip somewhere. well, i was supposed to but i had something else to do for the weekend. i badly need one. srsly.

happy happy birthday, [info]moki~~

Last night, I was on the phone with Jane, my student from my late afternoon job. We were talking about how she can effectively describe her friends and the likes.

When we got talking about her boyfriend, she kept on giving out his physical aspects. I told her to make a different approach, like how's her boyfriend like, characteristics and all.

Teacher, my boyfriend is a good exercise.

I hope what I'm thinking of is not the one that she was thinking of. Its completely different in my head. *giggles*

* * *
Here's another blunder.

Teacher: Okay, so can you tell me something about the picture?
Student: *silent*
Teacher: Do you see a boy or a girl in the picture?
Student: Teacher, don't you know the difference between a boy and a girl?

*Honga naman. Rephrase! The question was too easy for the student*

* * *
Usual opening spiel.

Teacher: Hey, how are you?
Student: I didn't go anywhere today.
Teacher: Ooowkay. How about school?
Student: School didn't go anywhere either, teacher.

*Hello? whatever happened to cheerful kids?!?*

* * *
They were talking about the student's parents.

Teacher: Is your mom beautiful?
Student: No.
Teacher: Really? Why not?
Student: I don't want to lie.

*One of the effects of forcing kids in English academies.*

nothing but pure blunder.

bad hair day!

last night was one of the craziest nights i've had in the office.
there were a lot of people who got really insane with their calls.
why don't i share some of it.

CALL 1:
teacher: Hello, I'm looking for Kim Chu Chuva.
mother (umma in korean): ooh, hakseng opsoyo. (student is not around, absent)
teacher: oh, i see. okay, umma, tarahaseyo (one more time), not here.
umma: ahh, not here. *laughs*
teacher: okay, bye.
(we're not supposed to speak their language, not even teach their parents how to answer. haha!)

CALL 2:
teacher: hey, is peter there?
umma: ooh, peter is not here.
teacher: okay, thanks umma. say hi to uppa (father) bye!
(wow, they're tight.. hahaha!)

CALL 3:
teacher: hello, may I speak with PAULA?
paula: yes, this is Paula.
teacher: oh hi! how are you?
paula: i'm okay. thanks. and you?
teacher: i'm okay too. did you TOOK your dinner?
paula: hmmm.
(she said Paula as /pawla/ and not /puhla/. shet naman. sayang ang training ko sayo! extended training! ;p)

CALL 4:
teacher: emily, i want you to work on your tenses.
emily: hmmm, teacher what is tenses?
teacher: you know tenses, nines, tens (9's, 10's?) haha. kidding.
(ahahaha! i'm going to grill you in your QA!)

CALL 5:
call was ongoing for about 7 minutes...
teacher: eric, do you know what sound a mobile phone makes?
student eric: you mean the tone?
teacher: no no, i mean, when you get a message or a call, it goes something like... tiit tiit tiit tiit. you hear that sometimes don't you?
student: oh yeah, it sounds like tiki tiki tiki tiki...
teacher: no no, that's a kind of vitamin.  you know, tiki tiki vitamins?
(paksheeeeeeeeeeet ka! hahaha!)

i was laughing my guts out when i heard the last call.
teachers last night definitely had something before they went to work. maybe something they had for lunch. haha..
i wish tonight will be more fun! ^^

its red again...

yesterday i was able to get my first card for this year's starbucks 2008 planner. when i saw a barista walking across the street with her red shirt on, i knew the planner would be on too. so i went inside to see it.

it was gorgeous.

i liked it immediately because it wasn't that bulky. the case wasn't too dark. and it has a garter-y lock-ish type.
so highschool. :)

23 stickers to go.
two weeks before i get my hands on it. :)

another day to celebrate~

Yesterday, i had a class with Earl, a fifteen year old student from Daegu. I find him interesting because of the answers that he has been giving me for the past few weeks. Hint: He's a fan of Mariah Carey.

Last night was no different.

I opened the call with the usual hey there what were you doing before i called thingy.  He was busy doing his art homework.

Me: What's your art homework about, Earl?

Earl: Hmmm. It's a paper work.

Me: A paper work? What's that?

Earl: It's like a picture. Then I cut it. Then I put it on paper.

Me: Oh me sorry fopr being so stooooped, Earl. That is paper work, indeed.

The Real Me:  Oh, so it's a cut out of sorts. What pictures did you put there?

Earl: Dreamgirls, teacher.

Me: Oh you mean the movie?

Earl: Yes teacher, I like it.

Me: I see. I think your art homework will look really good.

EARL SINGING: And I'm telling you, you're gonna love me it.

*holeejeezusmotherof you*

When we were talking about his favorite programs, I asked him about his favorite US series. He said he likes Prison Break. So I continued asking him questions about it. Why do you like it? What's the series about? Who's in that series? Everything seemed normal until I asked 'Who do you like among the cast?'

Earl: He said Michael Scofield.

Me: Hmmm. I asked him why.

Earl: He said he's a good actor.

Me: What else?

Earl: He is handsome.

There you go! Earl just became my new betch! ;p
